Ford GT Pays Tribute to Nostalgia With ‘67 Heritage Edition Model
50 years ago, the No. 1 Ford GT40 Mark IV won the 1967 Le Mans—a legendary win that continued to cement Ford’s place in the world of racing. Today, Ford is repaying that win by releasing a special cosmetic package to accompany the release of the 2018 Ford GT, called the ‘67 Heritage Edition. If you’re one of the lucky few to get your hands on one of the 500 limited-release Ford GT models, you’ll have the option of applying it with the throwback package.
The Ford GT ‘67 Heritage Edition won’t add any performance-tuned features, but it will add to the GT’s appearance with a high-gloss Race Red paint job and Frozen White racing stripes. Silver wheels with a satin finish are held with black lug nuts, the side mirrors are also silver, and the brake calipers are painted in matching red. The interior also gets some interesting touches with carbon fiber leather seating with red contrast stitching, as well as red seatbelt webbing.
If you want to get your hands on the 2018 Ford GT ‘67 Heritage Edition, get out there while supplies last; Ford representatives say the ‘67 Heritage Edition will be available only in “limited quantities,” so only a small amount of the 500 2018 Ford GTs will be able to have the package.
